The Nigl winery, with its hotel and restaurant, is located in the beautiful Krems valley, at the foot of the Senftenberg hill.
The stone terraces around Senftenberg provide optimal conditions for growing grapes. The vineyards boast a variety of primary rock soils, with granite, gneiss, mica schist and amphibolite providing the wines with ample minerality.
The grapes for Urgestein are grown on amphibolite soils on the Gaisberg and Heiligenstein slopes. The wines are vinified in stainless steel to provide the ultimate in freshness and fruit purity.
