The Pellingen vineyard is home to 35-45 year old vines, with roots that penetrate deep towards the bedrock of mica schist. This steep terrace, across 250-315m above sea level, is located in Senftenberg and is classified as an Erste Lage under the ÖTW system.
The wine is aged in both stainless steel and wooden casks, and is suitable for many years of bottle ageing to come.

CRITIC RATINGS
"A staggering gruner veltliner that breaks the mold of the 2020 vintage! Stunning exotic-fruit, chamomile and spice aromas envelop you. Great concentration and every bit as much mineral brilliance make this a breathtaking wine. Drink or hold" (James Suckling)97 James Suckling
"Good complexity, juicy, taut, pleasant expressive notes of papaya and mango, crisp acidity, lingers well, great future potential. Already very drinkable." (Peter Moser)
95 Falstaff
94 Robert Parker
On the nose, the first notes are of saline minerality and white and green pepper spice, before revealing pronounced, ripe, fresh stone and tropical fruits. The wine is powerful and mouth-filling, with high levels of mineral extract, a dense and complex body, and long, concentrated finish of stone and tropical fruits.
Pairs with a range of veal, poultry, game meats
