Classification: 1ÖTW (Premier Cru)
The steep terraces of the Hochäcker vineyard face south west, gaining fabulous sun exposure across the 305-375m high slope. The vineyard is separated only by a wall from the iconic Pellingen vineyard.
The mica schist soils provide optimal conditions for the cultivation of Riesling, giving the wines their signature mineral characteristics, their juicy stone fruits, as well as structural substance and a long life.

CRITIC RATINGS
"Juicy, taut and tightly meshed on the palate with fine acid structure, mineral, ripe fruit sweetness with long, multi-layered finish. A great companion for salty food with definite ageing potential." (Peter Moser)98 Falstaff
"Super elegant, refined and concentrated, yet sleek and seamless palate with an extremely long, superfine finish that will take take your breathe away." (James Suckling)
97 James Suckling
95 Robert Parker
The wine has a delicate scent of lemon citrus, stone fruit, and peach blossom, with smoky, mineral tones of flint and schist. On the palate expect lively citrus acidity, with powerful, high mineral extracts and a long finish.
Pairs with a range of fish dishes, especially Asian cuisine
