A beautifully fruity and soft wine, this Zweigelt is a perfect, go-to, uncomplicated companion for drinking any day of the week. It’s so soft and smooth that it can also perform well slightly chilled for those warm summer evenings.
Made from a range of 23 to 63 year old vines, the organically farmed clusters were hand-picked at the end of September.
Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks, with punch down of the must cap 2 to 4 times each day. After that the wine was transferred to oak barriques where malolactic conversion took place before being transferred to larger oak barrels for 12 months ageing.
ANALYSIS
Alcohol: 13.5% volAcid: 5.4 g/l
Residual sugar: 1.4 g/l
On the nose the wine reflects the classic Zweigelt spiciness and juicy cherry fruit. On the palate the wine is soft and refreshing, with smooth tannins, elegant acidity, and a long lasting spicy fruit driven finish. A wine that will be excellent with a wide range of dishes.
This wine pairs well with BBQ, pasta dishes, and coarse pâté.
